| Activity/Event Summary: |
SSSION selected 27 ladies from Baluwa village for a 3 months’ tailoring training for livelihood. This village was hit hard by the earthquake in 2015. To facilitate the training, SSSION provided 7 sewing machines and hired a local trainer. The training was conducted in one of the rooms of Azad School of Baluwa. In the opening ceremony on August 1st, the deputy chairperson of SSSION distributed tailoring essentials such as threads, scissors, measuring tapes, marking chalk, needles, etc. to each trainee. At the end of the opening ceremony, prasadam and photo of Bhagawan Baba were distributed. A total of 12 Sai volunteers and 5 local volunteers were present during the opening ceremony. SSSION has decided to donate one sewing machine to each of the ladies after the completion of the training program. |

Each Sai Center and Bhajan Group organizes an orientation program to highlight the Nine Point Code of Conducts given by Swami for His devotees to follow and practice. This is done on a regular basis to inform new devotees and to remind devotees with prior knowledge. SSS Centers Chabahil and Minbhavan, both in Kathmandu, organized such a program on August 6. Altogether 140 Sai devotees attended the event at these two venues. |

On August 13, the Ladies Wing organized a Skill Development Exhibition at Sri Sathya Sai Centre, Narayanchaur in Kathmandu. More than 800 people visited the exhibition to view the display of beads, cotton wicks, pickles, shopping bags, woolen socks, caps, sweaters and homemade sweets. All these items were prepared by ladies from 23 Sathya Sai Centers and Bhajan Groups. There were altogether 33 food and art and craft stalls in the exhibition. |

SSSION organized Bal Srijanatmak Karyakram (Creative Writing Program) for SSE children on August 20 at Kathmandu. A total of 390 Bal Vikas students competed in essay writing, art, poetry, elocution, quiz and bhajan singing. The top 3 children were awarded with medals and certificates. All other participants received certificates of participation. There were approximately 200 audience members and judges. |

| Activity/Event Summary: |
Many villages were damaged by flooding in Sunsari district of eastern Tarai. On August 1st, SSSION volunteers rushed to help the victims. They handed over clothes, mattresses, mosquito nets, and food packets to 60 families. Each food packet weighed 15 Kg and consisted of raw rice, beaten rice, puffed rice, onion, salt, noodles and biscuits. They also distributed tarpaulins to 35 families and tents to 25 families. On August 7, they served 20 families in similar manner. |

On August 6 SSSION media team organized a short photography training session at SSS Center in Kathmandu. Mr. Rajendra Krishna Manandhar , was the expert trainer. Brother Shrestha is a professional film maker and also a Sai devotee. A group of 30 Sai volunteers (working in various media activities) benefitted from this training. |

Sai Centers and Bhajan Groups throughout the country celebrated the advent of Lord Krishna on the day of Sri Krishna Janmastami. The day was observed with Nagarsankirtan at early hours in the morning and bhajans in the evening. Many of the centers actually continued the bhajans from evening till midnight. |

On the occasion of Father’s day, on 31st of August, SSSION served prasadam to 1000 male and female inmates and 20 administrative staff of the Central Jail of Kathmandu and Dhulikhel prison. Sai Bhajans followed, which the inmates patiently attended. A brief talk was given on life and message of Bhagavan Baba by one of the office bearers of the SSSION. On the same occasion, in another jail at Bharatpur (Region 4) SSSION organized a Bhajan session and served prasadam to 700 prisoners. A brief talk on the law of karma was delivered by Dr. Narottam Upadhayay. |

The women wing of SSSION celebrated Hari Talika Teej (a special festival of the ladies) on August 31stby serving delicious lunch to 350 inmates and 50 administrative staff of the only female prison in Kathmandu. Special bhajan was organized which the inmates patiently attended. Bangles, beads and bindis, symbols of conjugal life, were also distributed to all of them. On the same occasion at another place, 48 inmates of a prison at Simalchaur, Pokhara were given the gifts of bangles, beads etc. The love and care with which the Sai sevadal served reminded the inmates of the good old days that brought tears in the eyes of some. It was a very emotional moment indeed. |
